He said owning a home is a lifelong dream for every individual as a house is not merely a four-wall structure but the foundation of a family’s dignity, security and a better future. The government is working with complete dedication to ensure that welfare scheme benefits reach the last person in the queue.
The Union Minister said that PMAY-U 2.0, launched on September 1, 2024, aims to provide permanent houses to economically weaker and eligible families. He said that the Central and Haryana Governments are jointly implementing several welfare schemes aimed at improving the living standards of poor families.
He emphasised that the government’s priority is to ensure that every eligible person receives the benefits of the scheme without discrimination. To achieve this, the entire process has been made transparent and online. He urged beneficiaries to complete the construction of their houses within the stipulated time frame and make proper use of the financial assistance provided by the government.
Lal said that both the Central and Haryana Governments are continuously working for the welfare of poor and needy families. He described PMAY-U 2.0 as a boon for families whose dream of owning a home had remained unfulfilled for years.
He added that the beneficiary selection process has been made completely transparent to ensure that only genuinely eligible persons receive the benefits of the scheme. Congratulating the beneficiaries, he urged them to complete the construction of their houses within the prescribed timeline.
During the programme, the Union Minister formally handed over sanction letters to 31 beneficiaries. In the first phase of PMAY-U 2.0, applications of 2,174 beneficiaries across Haryana have been approved. Of these, 509 beneficiaries belong to the urban areas of Karnal district, while 80 eligible beneficiaries fall within the jurisdiction of the Karnal Municipal Corporation.
